The Free series became the Air series and that is when Burton really started to take off. Then a couple years later the 3D hole pattern was created and the bindings changed forever. Burton’s boards also saw a big change this year because the shapes were becoming better. They had side-cut and better flex. I believe Craig Kelly’s influence in the engineering of the Burton line begins here.
